Houston’s 18 Sister Cities

As of 2025, Houston has 18 sister cities around the world, including several in Europe. Among them are Copenhagen, Denmark; Wolfsburg, Germany; Saint-Lô, France (a broader form of partnership); and Porto, Portugal.
In 2024, Houston launched several city initiatives inspired by Copenhagen’s experience, including large-scale energy efficiency projects in buildings and the expansion of public transit. In 2025, delegations of city officials and technical experts were exchanged to strengthen the partnership and support the implementation of new environmental projects.
